Is CoachReel really free?

Yes. The Free tier has no time limit and no feature crippling on the core coaching workflow: annotation, clip timeline, event tagging, and WhatsApp export are all free. Pro unlocks AI player tracking and HD export.

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?

No. All video processing runs locally on your machine via a bundled FFmpeg binary. Your footage never leaves your computer. An internet connection is only needed to activate a license.

What happens to my projects if I cancel Pro?

Nothing. Your projects, clips, annotations, and event tags are stored in a local .hkproj file and are never deleted. You revert to Free features; your data stays exactly where it is.

Which sports does it work for?

Any sport where you have video footage. The app was built around ice hockey workflows but is completely sport-agnostic. Football, basketball, handball, athletics; if there's a clip, you can annotate it.

What video formats are supported?

Any format FFmpeg can decode, which covers almost everything: MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and more. If your editing software or phone exports it, CoachReel can open it.

Will there be a macOS version?

Yes. macOS is the first item on the V1.1+ roadmap. It requires an Apple Developer account and notarisation. See the roadmap page for current status.

How does the 30-day trial work?

Enter your email in the app to start a 30-day Pro trial with no credit card required. At the end of the trial your account reverts to Free automatically.

Is CoachReel GDPR compliant?

Yes. The only personal data stored is your email address (used for license verification). You can request a full data export or account deletion at any time directly from within the app.

Can I use it without creating an account?

Yes. The Free tier works entirely offline and does not require an account. An account (just an email) is needed to start a Pro trial or activate a Pro subscription.

I found a bug. Where do I report it?

Send an email to support@coachreel.app. Please include your Windows version, what you were doing, and what happened. Bug reports are the most valuable feedback you can give.
